We would like to make you more familiar with natural beauty of the Czech Republic. There are countless possibilities for recreation in unspoiled nature due to special preserved areas. Every area, regardless of the level of protection, is directed by rules (for national parks are more strict, as for protected landscapes they are more moderate), which must be followed by visitors. The attractiveness of protected areas is based on natural beauty both genuine and untouched or harmoniously modified by human activity. Beautiful nature is the main target of tourists, sport activities and recreation. It is necessary to inform yourself in advance about the exact rules of movement and behaviour in any valuable natural area of which you are interested in.

In 1970 the UNESCO organisation instigated the program Man and the Biosphere. The main aim of this program is the conservation of a variety of species, high qu ality research and monitoring, and particularly to provide sustainable long term development of the region. In the Czech Republic, the regions listed in the UNESCO register are Trebonsko, Krivoklatsko, Palava, Sumava, Bile Karpaty and the international are a Krkonose together with Polish Karkonosze. We list them with the abbreviation BR = Biosphere Reserve.
